The media player delivery includes the following:
HearDis! media player
Power connector (incl. power adapter if necessary)
3,5mm stereo jack to Cinch cable (RCA cable) + RCA adapter
Network cable
The best installation place is the server cabin/rack (similar to image below). Make sure to choose a clean spot and consider the following parameters:
close to the amplifier
close to power plug (permanent electricity supply)
access to the network switch device or network plug
enough space around for proper ventilation
Firstly, connect the audio cable (RCA cable) with the amplifier
Choose one input channel on the backside
(e.g. AUX, Input A, Line A, ...)
Red cinch cable (right channel) in red or R
White cinch cable (left channel) in white or L
Ensure to switch to the corresponding input channel on the front of the amplifier (input, music source), e.g. AUX, Input A, Line A, ...
See examples
In case the amplifier has a jack inlet instead of Cinch one, use the additional audio cable supplied (mini-jack to mini-jack)
Connect the power plug with the power socket
Use the supplied power adapter
Plug the other end of the power supply into the media player
As soon as the player is properly connected, it will boot automatically and the power button will light up blue
Within the next minute, the device will start playing music
Plug the supplied network cable into the network socket of the media player
Connect the other cable ending with the network switch
Make sure the chosen port on the switch is free to use (see IT Guide)
Check if the connection is working (blinking control lights)
The media player should now be identifiable in your network, visible with an IP-address (router, DHCP table)
Please ensure a steady network connection - the player needs to be online on a regular basis and not blocked by any firewall so that it can update with new music content and troubleshooting support can be provided if needed
When plugging the audio cable into the headphone port of the media player, you should hear music immediately
If you can't hear music, make sure the volume on the amplifier is at an audible level and that the right input channel at the amplifier is selected
If you still can't hear music, check the output signal by plugging headphones into that port of the media player (also see troubleshooting)
If you hear music via the headphones, then the media player has been installed correctly
If you can't hear music via the headphones, repeat the previous steps or visit the troubleshooting guide
HearDis! and technical support
If the installation went well and you can hear music, we'd love to hear from you
We will also check if the online connection works and your player updates properly
